Stefanos is Greek. He spent most of his adult life in Prague, where he started training BJJ in January 2014 at Copacabana Tiger Gym Prague under Miloš Bosák. He earned his blue belt there in December 2016 under Braulio Estima.
After 2016 he trained at Renzo Gracie Prague — an affiliate of Renzo Gracie Holland. His purple belt came in December 2021 under Kemail Verhoeven, after training straight through the pandemic without stopping. Verhoeven promoted him to brown belt in July 2025 — twelve years after he first stepped on the mat.
He competes when the opportunity fits — two silvers at Grappling Industries in 2021, Gi and No-Gi on the same day.
Stefanos moved to Erbil in 2022 and joined Team Elwany. He coaches across all programs — Gi, No-Gi, Women’s, Kids. The Renzo Gracie curriculum is the same one he’s trained under his whole career.
