Renzo Gracie Team Elwany is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Erbil, Iraq. This page explains what information this website (renzogracie.teamelwany.com) collects, why we collect it, and — importantly — where it is kept.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to run the academy and keep our members safe on the mat.
- Your personal and membership information is kept on our own infrastructure — our own servers. We do not sell it, and we do not store it on third-party corporate cloud platforms.
- It is your information — you can ask us to delete it at any time, and we will.
- The detailed health and liability information is taken on a paper waiver you sign in person at the academy — not through this website.
- Like almost every website, we use Google and Meta (Facebook) cookies to measure our traffic and our ads. Those send anonymous browsing data to Google and Meta, and you can opt out (see below).
What this website collects
When you fill in the free-trial or registration form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the program you are interested in (plus anything else you choose to tell us). We use it only to contact you about your trial and membership and to set up your account in our scheduling app.
Where your data lives — our own servers
Your registration and membership records are stored on infrastructure that Team Elwany operates itself. They are not uploaded to third-party corporate cloud services, not sold, and not shared for anyone else’s marketing. Only the coaches and staff who need your details to run your membership can see them.
The paper waiver
The information that really matters for training safely — your health, any medical notes, and your liability acknowledgement — is collected on a physical waiver that you read and sign in person before you train. We deliberately keep that off the website.
Cookies and third-party tracking
To understand how our site is used and to reach the right people with our ads, this site uses two outside services. They set cookies and send anonymous usage data (such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location) to the companies below.
We use Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Google Site Kit to measure traffic and improve the site. How Google handles this data: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Meta (Facebook) Pixel
We use the Meta Pixel so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show them to people who have visited our website. Meta’s data policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can control how Meta uses your activity in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser at any time — the website still works without them.
How long we keep your information
We keep your details for as long as you are a member or a prospective member, and we remove them sooner if you ask.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you at any time — just contact us at teamelwany@gmail.com or speak to us at the academy.
