Al-Hakam Elwany

Dedicated and experienced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner with over a decade of training under Rafael Costa at Renzo Gracie HQ aka The Blue Basement in Manhattan NY.

Throughout his training career, Al-Hakam has had the privilege of training alongside some of the most prominent figures in BJJ community such as Grandmaster Renzo Gracie, John Danaher, Garry Tonon, Gordon Ryan, GSP, and other notable BJJ athletes.

His commitment to the sport and continuous improvement has earned him a recent promotion to brown belt, following many years as a dedicated purple belt.

Al-Hakam is passionate about sharing his knowledge and skills with others. He frequently visits Erbil to offer seminars and classes for weeks at a time, contributing to the growth and development of BJJ in his homeland.

His extensive training and exposure to elite athletes provide a rich foundation for teaching and inspiring others in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
