On the weekend of September 18, Renzo Gracie Team Elwany proudly hosted a three-day seminar for young athletes under the Iraq Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s Youth Division.
Led by Head Coach Ahmed Elwany, the seminar brought together academies from across Iraq — welcoming youth athletes from the U16, U17, and U18 categories. Over the three days, the sessions focused on transitions, guard passing, and sweeps, helping the next generation of practitioners sharpen their technique and confidence on the mats.
Coaches Murtadha, Saif, and Furat attended the event, escorting their youth teams and supporting the athletes throughout the seminar, creating an atmosphere of unity and shared learning.
The event was completely free, reflecting Team Elwany’s ongoing commitment to developing and supporting the growth of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Iraq — not for profit, but for the sport and its community.
The weekend was filled with energy, teamwork, and passion — a powerful example of how Iraq’s BJJ scene continues to grow stronger through collaboration and shared purpose.
