Ahmed Saradar started training in 2020, when Renzo Gracie Team Elwany first opened in Iraq — one of the very first students through the door. He stayed consistent from day one, building his game class by class, and in September 2023 he earned his blue belt under Al-Hakam Elwany, following the curriculum set by Renzo Gracie HQ in New York.
Then he stepped onto the competition mat. He’s competed at the AJP Tour Turkey International and the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Competition in 2023. Most recently, in December 2025, he took second place in the intermediate under-70 bracket at the Grapplers Club No-Gi tournament in Lebanon — and posted the bracket’s second-fastest submission, an armbar.
Today he’s one of the instructors at Renzo Gracie Team Elwany, where he runs the Fundamentals class — teaching new students the essential moves to start their own journey. If you want proof the program works, he’s it: every step he asks you to take, he took first.
