We are incredibly proud to announce that Atiyah Khaleel Alshaheeb represented Iraq and Gracie Barra Glasgow in the Male White Belt Master 1 (-88.3kg) division at the prestigious BJJ British Open 2024, securing 2nd place in a tough 7-man bracket!
After receiving a first-round bye, Atiyah submitted his semifinal opponent via triangle to earn his spot in the finals. In a closely contested final match against Christopher Corrigan of Twenty Four Jiu Jitsu, Atiyah narrowly missed gold, finishing with a strong 2–3 points result.
This marks a major achievement for Atiyah and a proud moment for the growing Iraqi BJJ community.
