Renzo Gracie Team Elwany proudly celebrates the international success of two of its dedicated athletes—Noor Alghanim and Atiyah Khaleel Alshaher—who represented Iraq at the CompNet UK Regional Championship 2024, earning a combined silver and bronze in an inspiring display of skill and resilience.
Though both are currently training in the United Kingdom, Noor and Atiyah remain proud members of Team Elwany, carrying with them the values and techniques developed on the mats in Erbil.
Noor Alghanim competed in the Male Blue Belt Adult Middleweight divisions, securing a hard-fought silver medal in No-Gi (79.5 kg) and a well-earned bronze in Gi (82.3 kg). His sharp execution, composure under pressure, and well-rounded game were evident throughout both brackets, earning him recognition on the podium in both formats.
Atiyah Khaleel Alshaher, competing in the Male white Belt Master 1 Medium-Heavyweight (88.3 kg) Gi division, powered his way through a tough bracket to claim silver. His performance reflected his commitment to the sport and his desire to elevate Iraqi Jiu-Jitsu on the global stage. These achievements highlight not just individual talent, but the growing international presence of Renzo Gracie Team Elwany and the evolving landscape of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Iraq.
