Ahmed Elwany

Dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner and instructor based in Erbil. His journey in BJJ began while he was studying dentistry in Ukraine, a decade ago where he first got involved in the sport. Ahmed’s passion for BJJ led him to train extensively in Egypt and Lebanon, further enhancing his skills and knowledge.

After gathering significant experience, Ahmed returned to Erbil to continue his practice and share his expertise. He founded Team Elwany in 2020, as a blue belt, with Al-Hakam and the continuous support of Renzo Gracie HQ. Recently after the years of dedication and hard work, Ahmed earned his promotion to purple belt by Rafael Costa

His commitment to continuous learning and improvement drives him to frequently travel to New York, where he trains and brings back new techniques and information to share with his students in Iraq.

Ahmed Elwany’s dedication to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and his commitment to teaching make him a valuable asset to the BJJ community in Iraq. His international training experience and ongoing pursuit of excellence ensure that he continues to inspire and mentor his students effectively.
